I have a 1995 3.9 that has low oil pressure and no oil is getting to the top of the valves. I think the pump may have lost its prime. can someone recommend the best way to reestablish the prime without removing the timing cover? I have read about injecting vasoline through the oil pressure relief valve housing. Thank you in advance for the help.

Go to Napa and get a tune of lubriplate 105. Disconnect the oil lines and squeeze as much 105 as you can into the holes.

This is what I did for mine. If you do not have oil pressure within 30-45 seconds, you may be ready for a replacement front cover.

Drop the oil pan, clean it up good, clean the oil pick up.. clean clean clean then bolt it back up.. I can't remember but I think I used some make your own seal stuff from auto parts store.. check on DWEB and I'm sure there's a detailed write up somewhere. Good luck!
